On my Instagram, I got a request to film my everyday makeup routine and, although I tried to film it right away, the odds simply weren't in my favour and practically everything went wrong. But it's here now and I am able to share with everyone who's interested, what my face looks like on the average day. My routine is pretty basic because it is the foundation of every makeup look I do and it's also pretty cheap because I haven't found any high end products worth incorporating into my daily makeup.

Empties #1
I've collected up all of my used up products from the past few months to share with you and give my opinion on whether I think they are worth buying. My mum was a little confused by my box of empty things, but she's getting used to the struggles of being a blogger! My video is up on my YouTube right now, and I would appreciate any feedback, video requests or subscriptions as I'm always looking to improve everything I do.

Dressing Up Denim
Whilst scrolling through Pinterest, I've found myself continually drawn towards tucked in shirts and rolled sleeves. My obsession with denim continues to grow, but in summer, real denim is just too heavy and hot, so I turned to my trusty denim shirt, on what evolved into a super warm and sunny day.
Although I usually prefer trousers and shorts, for some reason unbeknownst to me, I have been picking skirts and dresses recently. I featured this pencil skirt in my haul video over on my YouTube channel and I've come to love it over the past few weeks. It compliments so many styles and dresses up everything, including denim!
Many people don't know this, but I'm pretty good at making jewellery, after a phase I went through last year in which I began making and selling jewellery with methods I taught to myself. I was poking through some of my leftover beads and I realised that I had never used this cute bird charm and I had a bead on a jump ring left from a bracelet I had cut up, so I popped them on to a piece of string and voilĂ , a sweet little necklace to throw on to compliment this outfit.
Roll up the sleeves of your shirt and the look becomes more casual and breathable in hot summer weather. I loved how the rolled sleeves gave a relaxed vibe, and it made the shirt feel more comfortable and less constricting than full-length sleeves.
Outfit:
Top - Charity shop (originally F&F at Tesco)
Skirt - Rock&Rags at USC
Necklace - made by me
I hope you enjoyed this quick little post, and have perhaps found some inspiration for how to dress up denim. My look book will be coming to my YouTube channel at the end of the summer, so look out for that if you would like to see more fashion bits from me.

My Response to 'You Look Disgusting'
If you haven't seen it yet, a blogger/vlogger called Em posted a video in the last few days called 'You Look Disgusting', and I decided to voice my response in a video and blog post. In it, she shared the hate she has been receiving on her recent photos of herself with and without makeup, to bring light to the problems with our society's perception of beauty and perfection. I personally have never understood how people can feel okay posting negative things about people online because it is something I would never consider doing.
Discrimination of any kind is totally wrong, but discriminating because of something we can't control? That's ridiculous. However rigorous our skincare routines are, however we change our lifestyles, whatever our doctors do, sometimes there is no way to cure acne because it is down to hormones being a pain and it is not anyone's fault.
As I said in my video, I found the comments on Em's pictures in which she is wearing makeup and is supposedly more beautiful to be the ones which made me most angry because they made it seem as if she is a piece of branding who is either not good enough or wearing too much makeup. Wearing makeup is something which makes her feel more confident and she does not wear it to cover up for those people who think "she looks disgusting" or those who thinks she is wearing too much. Like many girls and women, she wears it for herself and to feel pretty.
I personally think that our society's view of 'perfection' is distorted and it puts so much pressure on young men and women to look good in order to meet this ideal that doesn't really exist. A lot of videos relating to 'skin shaming' and 'perfection' have been drifting around the internet in the past few years, but I'm glad that Em's video has been seen by so many people and I hope that maybe, we might finally get through to people that hate is never a good idea.
I hope you liked my post and video. If you watched the video, you will have seen that I am starting a series called #BeautyfulChats on YouTube which you can use on Twitter or Instagram and which I will use to choose a topic to talk about in a video each week. Let me know your thoughts on 'skin shaming' and Em's video below or on Twitter because I would love to talk to some of you!

Soap and Glory Wonderbronze
Since buying Soap and Glory's Wonderbronze less than a month ago, it has been featured numerous times on my Instagram and was featured yesterday in my haul video on YouTube. So, yeah, I kinda love this stuff.
Basically, this is a cross between a shimmer brick, a bronzer and a blush. A beautyful (hahaha) combination, I must say.
There are 5 shades arranged in a circle and I usually swirl my brush around to get a mixture of all of the colours and get a healthy bronzed glow. I have pretty pale skin and this is good even for me. It is pretty glittery, although it's very fine glitter so not too obvious. I'm thinking that these colours would actually be really good as eyeshadows for a rose gold look because the powder is really well pigmented.
Besides its beauty, Wonderbronze isn't too bad for your bank balance, at only £11 (although there is almost always an offer in Boots, which means I may get a little carried away...) The packaging is plastic, but it's pretty sturdy, and it has a mirror in the lid, which is great when on the go!

Mini Beauty and Clothing Haul
Today's video is a mini haul, because I've got a few things recently which AREN'T from charity shops! (I know, totally crazy right?) I hope you like the video because I'm starting to get into the swing of filming and I really enjoy sitting down to film and edit. Feel free to subscribe and follow my social media if you would like to.
Thank you for reading/watching, and I will hopefully get a post up for you all tomorrow!

My First Video!
As you might know, this summer I set myself the challenge of starting a YouTube channel which would run alongside my blog. Today I finally uploaded a video that I am fairly happy with, although it is totally awkward (that wave though?). I think I'm going to be posting a video tomorrow, but it depends on whether I can film and edit in time. Thank you for your continuing support!
Love from Milly xx
