Self-Confessed Book Addict

Hi. I'm Milly and I have been a bookaholic for as long as I can remember.

This week I decided to reread one of my favourite series of all time - 'Divergent'. As much as I love it, I don't think rereading 'Allegiant' was a good idea - if you've ever read it, you'll know the ending. Ohmygoodness. I sat on my bed and just let the tears roll down my cheeks and drip onto the pages. Needless to say, I was very mopey and grumpy for the rest of the evening.

I have loved reading ever since I was old enough to haul a cart full of books into my parents' room each morning. I remember the exact time when my love for all things sci-fi, fantasy and post-apocalyptic began - my friend in Hong Kong sent a copy of 'The Hunger Games' to me for my birthday when I was about 12. I loved it. (Sidenote: Before I read it, I thought it was a story about mice) From then my personal library snowballed and I've been left where I am today with hundreds of books in my bedroom and more stored in our attic. I constantly have a book on the go and I never go to bed without reading for a few minutes. I go through phases of being book-obsessed after reading one of my favourite series because my brain just craves more.

I'm looking for some new books to read at the moment - if you've read a good book or know anything similar to the books listed below, I would be so grateful!

What's your favourite book? Why do you like/dislike reading? Let me know down below and I'll speak soon!

*Freebie Alert!* Eyeko with Instyle

This month InStyle magazine has partnered up with Eyeko to bring us a selection of free gifts with the May 2015 edition. Eyeko is a high-end eye-makeup brand with some excellent quality products, but fairly reasonable prices. InStyle magazine is priced at £3.99 and is available at most UK supermarkets and newsagents.

The Eyeko free gifts include:
  • Skinny Liquid Liner (worth £12)
  • Velvet Lash Curler (worth £12)
  • Fat Eye Stick (worth £16 for 3)
  • Mascara Off Makeup Wipes (worth approx. £6)
I picked up the eyelash curlers which have velvet covered handles and produce nicely curled lashes without pulling. I have also tried the Skinny liner in the past, and while it is a nice liner, it runs out pretty fast which is why I didn't repurchase it.

Thanks for reading!

Nails Inc. Nailkale

If you read last week's post, you would have seen that I was coveting the Nails inc. Nailkale Superfood Base Coat, and I finally picked this up in Boots for £15. Basically, this is a base coat which has 'superfood extracts' such as aloe vera, lemon, ginseng, pomegranate and grape to 'deeply nourish, smooth and brighten the nails'. It is also enriched with vitamins A, C, E, F and H, which are supposed to nourish nails and prevent breakages and splitting.

Despite its colour, it actually applies clear, and lasts a long time without chipping, but is removed easily with nail polish remover. I have naturally strong and fast-growing nails, but I can see a slight improvement in strength and smoothness after only 4 days of wearing this polish. It can be worn under another nail polish or by itself for a more intense treatment. In my opinion, anything which improves the health of my nails is a good thing, and I like the idea of the benefits of kale for my nails, but I do think that the price is a bit high for what it is, so if I ever get through this bottle, I don't think I'd repurchase it. The packaging is beautiful and I really love Nails inc.'s recent rebranding; the container is quite heavy and looks expensive.
